Boavista

Boavista

20 Flight minutes south of Sal is Boavista, a piece of the Sahara in the Atlantic. The landscape of the total 620 km² large desert island is characterized by large, fan-shaped sand dunes, boulders and hills. Even larger, even more endless and even more gigantic than on the neighbour island of Sal are Boavista's beaches and the breathtaking colours of the water. With the opening of the new airport to international flights, Boavista is on the fast track to skipping over the sister island of Sal as a tourist destination. The construction industry is also booming on Boavista. Month for month, new vacation facilities are popping up and large travel agencies have long since recognized the tourist potential of Boavista.

Boavista

The island's capital of Sal Rei, founded by English traders, is still a bit of a sleepy nest. The tourist civilization hasn't yet overrun the 2'500 inhabitant large village and Boavista is still in a bit of a sleeping beauty slumbering phase.
